Get ready for an adrenaline-pumping adventure! In the morning you will head deep into the jungle southwest of Tena for a day of white water rafting. Known for having some of the best rafting and kayaking in Ecuador, the area is surrounded by twisting rivers and rainforest covered hills that attract explorers from around the globe. You will arrive to the foothills of Llanganates National Park, and your guide will provide you with a life jacket, helmet and paddle as you are briefed for your journey and given a safety talk. From here, paddle out on the Jatunyacu River, ready to test your rafting skills.
The river’s Class III rapids are perfect for both beginners and experienced adventurers alike. Enjoy the thrill of your raft rushing down the river during the quicker sections, and take time to look out for wildlife during calmer moments. About half-way through the ride you will stop on the riverbank for lunch and a break, before heading back out to finish up the trip. After about 5-6 hours the journey will finish in Puerto Napo, where transportation will be waiting to take you back to Tena.
