Day 1: Arriving in Cusco

Your adventure begins in the one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the Western Hemisphere, the city of Cusco. After arriving, you’ll have time to acclimate to the high altitude. From there you can either settle into your accommodations and rest or set out to explore some of the city’s historical sites or restaurants.

Day 2: Sacred Valley Exploration

Enjoy a half day city tour of Lima, taking in the historic centre with the Lima cathedral, Plaza de Armas, and ornate churches. You’ll also visit the coastal neighborhoods of Miraflores with its manicured Parque del Amor (Love Park) and a historic olive grove in the San Isidro district. The day will end with staying overnight in a pristine Lima hotel.

Day 3: Lima to Cusco

On this day we will fly from Lima to Cusco. Enjoy a scenic drive to the Sacred Valley, stopping en route at stunning Pisac ruins and a bustling market, as well as Awanacancha, a traditional weaving center. Then rest overnight in a Sacred Valley hotel.

Day 4: Sacred Valley Tour

This day will entail a full day tour of the Sacred Valley. Choose from the Ollantaytambo fortress, Chinchero market town, the salt ponds of Maras or the Moray archaeological site. The night will be spent in your Sacred Valley hotel.

Day 5: Journey to Machu Picchu

As we head towards the ancient wonder of the world, you’ll get to enjoy a train ride from the Sacred Valley to Machu Picchu. Travellers will embark on a guided half day tour of Machu Picchu with a knowledgable tour guide to show you around the landmark and offer valuable information about the Incas and Machu Picchu itself. Afterwards we will return by train to the Sacred Valley, gather our belongings from the hotel, and transfer to Cusco and stay overnight in a Cusco hotel.

Day 6: Half Day Cusco Tour

This day will be a half day Cusco city tour, including highlights like Qorikancha, the Cusco cathedral, Sacsayhuaman, Qenqo, Puka Pukara and Tambomachay. Overnight will be spent in your Cusco hotel.

Day 7: Tambopata Research Center

Fly from Cusco to Puerto Maldonado, then transfer to Tambopata Research Center (TRC) by bus and motorized canoe.

Day 8: Explore the Amazon with Tambopata Research Center!

Day 10: Final Day and Departure

Transfer by motorized boat and bus back to Puerto Maldonado for your flight back to Lima, your international connection, or onward travel.
