Itinerary In Detail

As soon as you’ve landed in Brazil, transfer to the beautiful tropical island Ilha Grande. Originally a lair for dangerous pirates, then a leper colony, and most recently home to one of the highest security prisons of Brazil. However, due to its tumultuous past, the island is now one of the most pristine spots in Brazil because it was untouched by developers and resorts until the jail closed in 1994.

Experience the beauty of the island on a tour to Lopez Mendes beach, a 2.4km strip of land only accessible on foot. Take a 45-minute boat ride and the hike 30 minutes to reach this paradise. Featuring white sand and crystal clear waters, this is the perfect haven to relax and enjoy. Discover transparent streams, a little chapel, and a mosaic-covered barrel decorating the beach.

Once you’re back in Rio de Janeiro, discover some of the top Brazilian attractions. Take a full-day tour of the city, starting with a trip up Sugar Loaf Mountain. Peaking at 1,300 feet, the pristine ocean beaches come fully into view from the mountaintop. Spend another day visiting the iconic Christ the Redeemer statue atop the Corcovado mountain. At an elevation of 2,400 feet, marvel at the panoramic views of Rio’s beaches, buildings, bridges, and more. On a free day, hit up some of Rio de Janeiro’s beautiful beaches. If you’re up for a more active day, hike or bike through the scenic city, shop at the local markets, and sample some Brazilian cuisine.
